Bruins fans camp out for Stanley Cup tickets
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Bruins fans were already camping outside the TD Garden Monday morning for a chance to purchase tickets to the Stanley Cup Finals.
“No. Not for Bruins Stanley Cup tickets. Nothing I would want more than this for me to happen right now,” said David Freni, who is first in line.
“We here there’s going to be inclement weather, but as Bostonians, Bruins fans, it doesn’t really matter. We are here for one reason. We’re here to win,” said Dominic Roberto, who is camping out.
While fans waited outside, the Bruins practiced inside the Garden.
“We’re facing a real tough challenge. We gotta make sure we’re focused and at our best here,” said Adam McQuaid, who scored the game-winning goal in the Bruins sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.
“Everybody has a pretty good understanding of what everyone can bring and it’s nice when everyone just does it,” said Andrew Ference.
The team has come together, thrilling fans. Maybe it’s the unusual number of overtime games, but this year’s playoffs have been getting a lot of attention.
“I know nothing about hockey. I am the biggest fair-weather fan out there, but I love the Bruins. Got my shirt, my jewelry. Got my shoes. I’m ready to go for the big game,” said Marie Capone.
The players also say they can’t wait to get the series with the Chicago Blackhawks started. Game 1 is Wednesday in Chicago.
