Fans cheer Bruins on as they leave for Chicago
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Thousands of Bruins fans dressed in black and gold lined up at the TD Garden Tuesday to give the team the biggest send off, ever as they prepared to board the plane to Chicago.
They chanted, “We want the cup!”
They got high-fives from their favorites, including Shawn Thornton, Brad Marchand, Tyler Seguin and Tuuka Rask.
“It’s fantastic. We play in a great hockey market,” said Bruins defenseman, Andrew Ference.
And then came Ference, photo bombed by Jarmoir Jagr. And big screams for Patrice Bergeron.
“It’s a great feeling to be going out to Chicago and we have all this support from the fans so it’s like, it’s awesome,” he said.
For the guys who have been here before, as well as the newer first timers, it’s all about keeping their eyes on the prize and bringing the Stanley Cup back to Boston.
“There’s no time to really get giddy and it’s all about focusing and bringing the Cup home,” said rookie defenseman, Torey Krug.
As the Bruins boarded the plane to Chicago, fans had some advice to help the B’s bring home a couple wins.
“Don’t take a lot of penalties because the Blackhawks have a very good power play,” said Bruins fan Dana Virgin.
Game 1 will be held Wednesday night in Chicago. Puck drop is at eight o’clock.
