Bís fan spends thousands on Stanley Cup tickets
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Bruins fan David Freney had his hands full with two loge tickets for each of the Bruins home games in the finals. But at the same time, his wallet is lighter by more than three thousand dollars. Still, he’s feeling no pain.
“Not at all. I mean, how many more times am I going to see the Bruins go to the Stanley Cup? You never know, it could be never,” said Freney.
The number on his jersey is 33, but Freny was number one in line for the Bruin’s finals tickets. He showed up at nine o’clock Monday morning. Freney said it was a wild, fun night waiting in line with fans who partied despite the downpours.
And being first in line not only gave him first dibs on the tickets, it also helped him stay dry.
“The rain really didn’t stop anyone from having a good time, that’s for sure. I mean, I was ready first so I was right underneath the roof, so the rain didn’t affect me at all,” said Freney.
While Freney said his splurge will assure him lots of memories if the Bruins don’t get back to the finals any time soon, he said he would line up again and hand over the cash if the B’s keep up their playoff winning ways.
“Hopefully it is, I’ll be back next year. You’ll see me first in line again,” he said.
Freney said he was the only one in line to get two loge tickets to each game of the three home games. He was the only one in line who can say he’s not going to miss any of the action.
Game 1 will be played Wednesday night in Chicago. Puck drop is at eight o’clock.
