Couple gets married, has Bruins themed wedding
UNDATED (WHDH) -- To say Timothy and Megan Comfort are big Bruins fans would be a big understatement.
The Peabody couple had been planning their wedding for the past year and a half. It was scheduled for last Friday, which also happened to be Game 4 of the playoffs with the Bruins going for a clean sweep. So the die-hard fans embraced it.
“Gotta have my groom’s cake as a surprise, it was Bruins,” said Megan.
The icing on the cake was Bruins themed; the decorations were even Bruins themed.
“Our table numbers were Bruins players on hockey pucks,” said Megan.
They had always planned on having Bruins elements in their wedding, but given the circumstances, they included a TV to watch every nail-biting minute of the game.
It was supposed to be the bride’s special day, but Megan said she didn’t mind sharing the spotlight with the B’s.
“Didn’t bother me one bit. I was in front of the TV too,” she said.
The DJ also had a surprised from Rene Rancourt himself; a taped messaged leading everyone in the National Anthem.
Megan said her favorite moment of the whole wedding was “when they won.” She even danced around with a broom to represent the team’s sweep.
The couple said they will be racing home from work to catch Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Bruins and the Blackhawks. Puck drop is at eight o’clock.
