Bís fan gets fancy with homemade rally towel suit
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Rally towels have been a tradition at the TD Garden when the Bruins take to the ice. But one fan took it to another level.
“I had a lot of towels, a little bit of time, and a great love for the Bruins,” said Ken Cruise.
Cruise made a whole business suit out of nothing but Bruins rally towels.
“I pricked my fingers a lot,” he said.
And he wears it to every post season game.
“I really like seeing the expressions on people’s face when I walk by, they don’t know what to say and they just start laughing,” said Cruise.
The 21-year-old Bruins fan has collected the towels at game and eventually he had more than 100. He said his suit is made up of nearly 30 towels.
“It is comfortable, very. If it wasn’t so hot,” said Cruise.
And if you’re wondering how he goes to the bathroom…
“I actually have a fly built in,” he said.
But Cruise said the tie is the most overlooked and underrated piece of the Bruins suit.
“I love the tie, probably my favorite part. I was fortunate enough to get it signed by Derek Sanderson. So I carry a little piece of history with me wherever I go,” he said.
Cruise said it took him a whole summer to make the suit. But every time he goes to a game at the Garden he still takes home at least one rally towel.
