NORWOOD, Mass. (WHDH) -- It was a banner day at Norwood High School on Wednesday.

Boston’s two most recent championship banners traveled to the high school, which was picked by fans through social media.

Matt Brown and other students had the chance to pose for pictures in front of last year’s Boston Bruin’s Stanley Cup Championship banner and the Boston Celtics’ 2008 NBA Championship banner.

All of the banners have been temporarily removed from the rafters of the TD Garden while the men’s NCAA basketball tournament takes over.

“It’s something that I’m glad that the whole community can come out and experience as one,” said Brown.

Brown was paralyzed during a high school hockey game two years ago. Next month he plans to race in the Boston Marathon to raise money for the Boston Bruins Foundation.
