Fans expect great things from Seguin in Game 7

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Fans were already gathered at the Garden before Game 7, looking for another Game 7 victory this year, to follow up 3 last year.

They expect goalie Tim Thomas to have a huge game, saving the team from an early playoff exit.

“You can always count on [Thomas] in a Game 7. He’s been great in the past couple Game 7’s and I think he’s going to have a great performance again tonight,” said Pat Cusick, a Bruins fan.

But Thomas hasn't always been sharp against the Capitals. In Game 5 he let in a couple goals he wished he had stopped.

“He's playing a lot because there’s no backup goaltending. So it takes its tolls on you,” said Brian Long, a Bruins fan.

There’s no doubt Thomas will be key in Game 7, but forward Tyler Seguin is very popular with younger fans. Especially among women it seems. Some say they've met Tyler Seguin.

“He's a good kid. He's close to our age so we really root for him,” said Kelly Hurst, a Bruins fan. “All the girls love him.”

The overtime goal in Game 6 was a turning point -- a coming-of-age goal for Seguin, who's arrived as an NHL phenom who can score under pressure.

“After his goal he's going to have this energy he didn’t have in the past couple games. Hopefully it will fuel the team,” said Stephanie Madison, a Bruins fan.
