Report: Shaq wants to play for the Celtics

BOSTON -- Free agent center Shaquille O'Neal has reportedly been telling folks he wants to join the Celtics.

Shaq would have to settle for the veteran minimum of $1.35 million if he wants sign a deal with Boston.

However, he is reportedly looking for $8 million. The C’s would have to work out a sign-and-trade deal with the Cavaliers to acquire Shaq and pay him a higher salary.

Shaq has won four NBA titles with the Lakers (3) and Heat (1) over his 18-year NBA career.

The 38-year-old big man averaged 12.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 53 games last season with Cleveland.
