MIAMI (WHDH) -- The Celtics touched down in South Florida Sunday afternoon ahead of the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat.
The Celtics stepped off the buses and into enemy territory -- but for Doc Rivers and the C’s, it’s one road trip they have no problem taking.
“You’re excited every time you get here. You know the jobs not done, but you’re excited to be here,” said Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers.
It’s the third Conference Finals trip in the last five years for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and company.
“I expect it, truthfully. That’s the way I look at things. I expected us to be here. I probably a lot of you didn’t. But that’s why a lot of you are wrong a lot of times,” said Paul Pierce, Celtics captain.
As for the Celtics, they say this is their time.
“This is where it really starts to get fun and you really know what you’re playing for,” said Celtics guard, Ray Allen. “You go through the regular season and you throw games away and you think you’re going to pick them up and catch up somewhere down the line. But here, you know what it is.”
“This is the cream of the cream. This is what it’s all about -- Conference Final. We definitely don’t like the way we left last year so we’ll see what happens, man,” said Kevin Garnett, Celtics center.
