BOSTON (WHDH) -- It was a special night on the parquet for two Boston high school students. Not only did they get to see a Celtics game, they both received a $5,000 college scholarship.
Sponsored by Sun Life Financial, the program awards outstanding students who have overcome significant obstacles.
Vicki Miranda, 18, is a youth community organizer in her East Boston neighborhood.
Terel Andrews, 17, of the Jeremiah Burke High School, was chosen in part for his desire to help others. He traveled to Cape Verde to volunteer as an English tutor.
Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca said it's a great program and a great honor to meet these young people.
And their future looks bright; Miranda plans to go to school for nursing, and Andrews is looking at some colleges in the Bay State.
