Former Dolphin player charged in $690K fraud scheme
UNDATED (WSVN) -- A former Miami Dolphins player and his mother have been charged with fraud.
According to reports, former wide receiver Irving Fryar allegedly obtained five home equity loans in six days using his mother's house as collateral. Officials said the 51-year-old failed to disclose the existence of other loans and did not make any payments.
Fryar and his 72-year-old mother, Allene McGhee, have both been charged in the $690,000 fraud scheme.
Fryar played on four NFL teams from 1984 to 2000.
