PETA outraged by BC's bald eagle mascot
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (WHDH) -- PETA is asking Boston College to stop using a real bald eagle mascot at its home football games.
The animal rights group wants the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to see if BC is violating laws by having a live animal at the games.
According to The Boston Globe, U.S. wildlife agents say BC has the proper permits, and professional handlers are with the eagle during the games.
Bald eagles are protected by federal law.
