NHL player, Milton native Yandle honors Boston victim
PHOENIX, Ariz. (WHDH) -- A Phoenix Coyote hockey player giving a special gift to the family of a marathon bombing victim.
Over the weekend, defenseman and Milton native, Keith Yandle, wore a special jersey during warm-ups dedicated to 8-year-old Martin Richard. Phoenix Coyotes Sr. Director of Communications, Rich Nairn tweeted out a photo of the jersey, “Coyotes D Keith Yandle wearing Martin Richard jersey in warm up at United Center. #BostonStrong”.
Yandle also had the words, "Pray For Boston", written on his skates since the bombings happened.
After he wore the jersey, all his teammates and members of the opposing team, the Chicago Blackhawks, signed the jersey.
Yandle was going to auction it off for charity, but instead he's decided to give to the Richard family.
