BURLINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Aly Raisman got back into the gym Tuesday and was greeted by a crowd of fellow gymnasts who congratulated her on making the Olympic team.
But Raisman says it's back to business as she looks forward to London.
Junior gymnasts ran up to Olympian Aly Raisman as soon as she walked into her gym, Brestyn's Gymastics, in Burlington.
The girls, ages seven to 16, are all on the Junior Olympic team training 30 hours a week at the Burlington gym.
They had been waiting for Raisman to come home so they could hear about the Olympic trials and being named to team U.S.A.
“It feels really amazing I feel like it still hasn’t even really sunk in yet but it’s like the best feeling in the world knowing that everything that I’ve been working for my whole life actually came true,” Raisman told the group of girls.
The girls raised their hands and asked Raisman all of their questions.
"I’ve been dreaming that my whole entire life and it’s been an honor to
see an Olympian working out with me,” said Kathryn Simard, 10-year-old gymnast.
“I remember being that young and I was so excited and I looked up to all the older girls and I wanted to go to the Olympics so bad. So to be able to inspire them and help them out and give them motivation means so much to me,” Raisman said.
And in return, Raisman got that extra boost from a group that not only inspires her, but truly believes in her.
"Go for gold, Aly!" the girls cheered.
