FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Members of the U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team celebrated their silver medals with fans on Thursday.

Meghan Duggan, Molly Schaus and Hilary Knight -- three players on the team with ties to New England -- were honored during a ceremony at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

The women say sharing their story with fans is what it’s all about.

"This is the best part, coming out here and getting to share this medal with everyone who supported us the whole way, so between coming here and doing this stuff and going to schools and sharing it with all the girls at local rinks, it makes it all worth it," said Schaus.

The kids skating at Gillette also got the chance to lace up their skates and take to the ice with the Olympic players.

The three hometown heroes also posed for pictures and signed autographs.
