Report: Gronkowski to undergo back surgery
BOSTON (WHDH) -- New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is set to undergo back surgery in mid-June, according to the NFL Network.
This news comes just over a week after Gronkowski underwent a fourth surgery on his left forearm.
The back surgery will likely cause him to miss part of training camp.
This is not the first time Gronkowski has dealt with back issues. He missed all of his senior year of college in 2009 with a similar disc problem.
The NFL Network’s report also cites the surgery does not come as a surprise so the Patriots have planned for Gronkowski’s absence.
Gronkowski’s left forearm is healing nicely from last week’s surgery with no signs of the infection resurfacing.
