FOXBORO, Mass. -- Patriots players shared their favorite Super Bowl memories on Friday.

“You always dream of making the big play in the big game as a youngster,” said Matthew Slater, a Patriots player.

Slater talked about what it was like as a kid watching the Super Bowls over the years.

“I remember watching the Denver, Green Bay Super Bowl in San Diego. John Elway’s first Super Bowl and the play where he dove and kind of got helicoptered,” Slater said.

Aaron Hernandez said he remembers watching one Super Bowl in particular.

“The Tennessee Titans versus the Rams where the Titans came up short on the one yard line. I’ll always remember that one,” Hernandez said.

For Rob Ninkovich, it was the Cowboys in the ‘90’s.

“When I was a kid, I was a pretty big Cowboys fan. I was a huge Emmitt Smith fan when I was a kid, and watching them win those Super Bowls was pretty cool,” said Ninkovich.

Pats kicker Stephen Gostowski said he used to watch the Patriots play in the Super Bowl.

“I can remember almost all of them. I got a pretty good memory of stuff like that and I definitely remember all of the three the Patriots won,” Gostowski said.

Some players have fond memories of past Super Bowls, but players like Logan Mankins still have 2008’s loss in mind.

“I’ve been there once, and we lost. That’s the moment that still haunts me,” Mankins said.

Kevin Faulk said he’d rather wait ten days to tell us about his Super Bowl memory.

“Let’s wait ‘til the next week and I’ll answer that after that, okay?” said Faulk.

Most Patriots players told 7News they hope to tell us fond memories of Super Bowl XLVI, after Feb. 5.
