Tabloid trash talk: Brady has 'man crush' on Jeter

DRACUT, Mass. -- Patriots Nation was buzzing over the front page story in the New York Daily News. The title insinuates that Tom Brady has a “man crush” on Derek Jeter.

“Anything to stir up more controversy between New York and Boston,” said Ryan Marcoux, a Patriots fan. “That’s crazy, but look where it’s coming from.”

The paper, in a two page spread, quotes Brady on media day as saying, “You need someone who plays the game the way it needs to be played, like Derek Jeter, I like how he plays the game.”

Pats fans like Jimmy Ryan are discounting the story as typical tabloid trash talking.

“They’re just trying to get in his head. It doesn’t really matter. You got to play the game,” said Jimmy Ryan, a Patriots fan.

Back in 2007 Brady was spotted in New York leaving his then girlfriend Gisele’s pad, wearing a Yankees hat. Fans say Brady and Jeter are probably friends.

“Yeah, that’s a little weird. That’s a little personal,” said Joe Andrew, a Patriots fan.

Some Patriots fans say they don’t know anything about Brady and Jeter, but they heard Eli Manning has a “man crush” on David Ortiz.
