MAPLEVILLE, R.I. (WHDH) -- The Patriots’ offensive line has been the target of criticism, but Tuesday they took aim at something else. 7’s Darren Haynes spent the morning with them at the annual Matt Light Celebrity Shootout.
At Matt Light’s Celebrity Shootout, competition between current and former Patriots got pretty serious, and every Patriot has their aim on last year’s champion.
“I don't know who's gonna win, Logan won it the last two years,” said Marcus Cannon, Patriots offensive lineman.
“The biggest key to my success is usually I just close my eyes and shoot and I get lucky,” said Logan Mankins, Patriots offensive lineman.
When it comes down to competition for the Patriots out on the range, it’s all about winning at any means necessary.
“Is there cheating involved here? Probably, but who’s going to call someone out when they have a gun in their hand,” said Matt Light, former Patriots offensive tackle.
And for a kicker who doesn't hit that much on the field, he has a game plan to hit the target.
“I actually paid off a professional sniper to be in the woods for me,” said Zoltan Mesko, Patriots punter.
But then Rob Gronkowski arrived, and everyone's game plan changed.
When asked what he does when Gronkowski has a gun in his hand, Zoltan Mesko said, “You just run.
“That’s when you find the biggest tree around and you stand behind it ‘cause Rob -- he’s a loose cannon,” Mankins said.
