FOXBORO, Mass. (WHDH) -- Some Patriots players took to Twitter to air their grievances after Sunday night’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Linebacker Brandon Spikes wrote, “Can someone please tell these [expletive] zebras Foot Locker called and they're needed back at work!!!!! #BreakingPoint.”
Spikes later tried to soften his stance -- but his feelings seem to be echoed by the fans.
After Sunday night’s game, Belichick, who was visibly frustrated, grabbed a referee’s arm -- which has many speculating that he may be fined for his actions.
Belichick later said he was simply trying to get the ref’s attention to ask him about the last play of the game.
But, Pats fans agree with Belichick and even think the referees are to blame.
When asked if what coach Belichick did was wrong, Pats fan Ryan Rioux said, “Not at all. I think the officiating was horrible.”
“I heard they were maybe going to fine him for that, I was like, he was just trying to get his point across. He wasn’t being aggressive. I just think he was trying to make a point,” said Suzanne Miele.
“He was right in his anguish after the game. It’s incredible, I mean with the height that the NFL has gotten with what they expect from the officials, there’s absolutely no way possible that it’s there right now,” said George Cidade.
This is the first time the Patriots have been below .500 since 2003.
Sources told 7News the league has not made contact with Bill Belichick as of yet.
