FOXBORO, Mass. (WHDH) -- It may be a rematch - but the Patriots and Ravens say they're not the same two teams that will face off Sunday in the AFC championship.
“I can't even remember Week 1 of this year, so let alone last year at that time. We're a different team; they are a different team. Obviously, there are going to be different plays made,” said Marshal Yanda, Ravens Guard.
“Well I don't think last year has anything to do with it, but obviously we have seen them before and they have a really good team and deserve to be in the championship game. I mean yeah it's gonna be a tough game, no doubt about it,” said Sebastian Vollmer, Patriots Tackle.
The one thing that hasn't changed is the mutual respect these teams have for each other.
"We all know Baltimore is a great football team. To go out there in Denver in that atmosphere and to get a win is huge. We know they're a good football team and it's going to be a tough game,” said Steve Gregory, Patriots safety.
“New England is New England. We have a lot of respect for those guys, and they have been in this position so many times over the past few years. They have the history,” said Torrey Smith, Ravens Receiver.
The Patriots hold an NFL best "14-3" record at home in the playoffs.
But pats players aren't relying on the comforts of Gillette Stadium, to be the deciding factor come game day.
“Hopefully our fans will be into the game, and they'll be loud and ready to go, but, all that matters is what happens between the lines come sunday. the ravens will go play in the backyard, they don't care, we know that. so, we're gonna go out and fight 'em,” said Matthew Slater, Patriots Receiver.
