FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WHDH) -- Who could forget that missed kick by the Baltimore Ravens that sent the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl last season.

The rematch has Patriots fans gearing up for the game. No one is more excited than Kevin Kelley of North Attleboro, who watched the game last year from 7,000 miles away.

“I’ve just always been a Pats fan. It’s what I do on Sundays,” said Kelley.

Wearing his Patriots jersey over his military fatigues, Master Sergeant Kelley found a way to watch all of last year’s Patriots games. He was in the Middle Eastern country of Qatar, where he was deployed with the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

For that loyalty, Kelley was recently selected as Patriots Fan of the Year, trophy and all.

“It was…I’m still flabbergasted,” said Kelley.

Kelley said he can’t even remember the last time he missed seeing a Patriots game. During his deployment in Qatar, he said the only problem was the eight hour time difference.

As for Sunday’s rematch with the Ravens, Kelley said he’ll be joining thousands of fans at Gillette Stadium to cheer on the Pats.

“I always get nervous, but I think they’re going to win…I think they win, maybe by a touchdown,” said Kelley.
