Remaining Sox home opener tickets going cheap
BOSTON (WHDH) -- With the home opener at Fenway just days away, those looking to get tickets may be in for a treat - they might be cheaper than you expect.
The miserable 2012 season has lowered expectations heading into this season.
As a result, the demand for tickets is not nearly as high as we have seen for more than a decade and the numbers back that up.
According to the Globe, in 2010, the average price to buy tickets to the home opener online was more than $439.
This year, it's down to $230.
Team executives currently claim Fenway has been sold out for the last 793 games.
They admit the streak will officially end this month.
The sox have 17 home games in April.
