Yastrzemski statue unveiled outside Fenway Park
BOSTON (WHDH) -- The Fenway faithful were rewarded Sunday morning when the Boston Red Sox unveiled a statue honoring former Sox great Carl Yastrzemski.
The statue was unveiled before the last regular season game at Fenway Park.
Speakers at the unveiling included former sox players Jim Rice, Dwight Evans and ‘Yaz’ himself.
“This statue means as much to me as being inducted into the hall of fame and having my number retired,” Yastrzemski said.
Yastrzemski also threw the first pitch before the game.
