Red Sox fans' play-off superstitions
BOSTON (WHDH) -- A tense and tough series against Detroit has some superstitious fans going out of their minds.
"We just keep pinging, pinging him until we win."
Robin Lindahl turns to her bobblehead Big Papi.
"Every time we get a run, we ping Papi and when Papi is up at-bat, we just keep pinging Papi,” said Lindahl.
In Sandwich, owner Charles Hume designed his barbershop to look like a mini Fenway Park.
Complete with a custom baseball field tile floor, to a green monster, and wall to wall memorabilia.
“When they're playing well it's great because the customers go, ‘Wow, our Sox are doing great.’ When they're doing bad it's, ‘Your Sox, Charlie, are doing bad.’
John Burt purchased a “Get Beard" t-shirt and stopped shaving.
"Just kind of letting it grow here right now,” said burt.
But no good luck charms, shrine or beard will help Karen Walsh. She said it's all about channeling positive vibes.
“Last night, I turned the TV off and I didn't even put the radio on. I wanted to just watch it and concentrate,” said Walsh.
However Red Sox fans choose to watch the postseason games, you can expect everyone will be glued to the televisions again Thursday night for Game 5.
The game is set to begin just after 8 o'clock, so it will likely be another late night for the team and the fans.
