Man given new ticket after buying fake on StubHub
BOSTON (WHDH) -- One fan who thought he scored an extremely cheap World Series ticket hit a major road block. The teacher in Pennsylvania thought he had bought a ticket for $6, but the ticket wasn't real.
The ticket was in the right field box for Game 1 Wednesday night that was offered for just three dollars, six dollars after fees.
Erik Jabs couldn't believe it but he went through the process, used his credit card and got the verification the ticket was his. A few hours later Erik said StubHub notified him the sale was being reversed and his money refunded.
For a short amount of time Jabs was as sad about not going to the game as the Detroit Tigers, but eventually StubHub stepped up to the plate and offered him a new ticket with a better seat.
“Once we were able to ascertain that the listing was actually fraudulent we felt like giving him his money back wasn’t enough, that we needed to go above and beyond and make sure that he actually got to the game,” Glenn Lehrman, a StubHub spokesperson, said.
After the ordeal was done Jabs said he was glad everything worked out.
“No hard feelings, I appreciate them coming through. It’s been a roller coaster for the past 24 hours but in the end they handled it the right way,” Jabs said.
