Sox talk preparation at World Series media day
BOSTON (WHDH) -- At World Series media day on Tuesday players talked about their preparation for the championship series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino said this is the day he’s been training for his whole life.
“This is what it’s all about. This is what you for train all off season; this is what you do as a kid. You throw the ball up. I remember doing it instinctively as a kid with some of my friends in the backyard you played with growing up. You say to yourself ‘game 7 World Series, 3-2 count, 2 outs.’ You throw the ball up and you hit it and wherever it lands it doesn’t matter. You say to yourself ‘yes, I won the World series’ you run around the bases. You look back upon it and it’s surreal. The world is surreal right here in front of you,” Victorino said.
For Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia the team was preparing just like they have all season.
“We’re still playing baseball, we’re still going to play the same way, we’re still trying to win every game. It’s just that everybody’s watching now,” Pedroia said.
