Red Sox fans excited for start of World Series
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Excitement and anticipation is in the air as another historic chapter opens at Fenway Park.
Red Sox Fans heeding the word from Mayor Menino and wearing Red Wednesday even though there's going to be a lot of Cardinals red around too.
“I can feel it. We’re gonna win, we’re going to take it all. We’re going go all the way,” said Javiar Navarro, Red Sox Fan.
But for many fans, staying warm is more important than sporting the color red. At the Sox souvenir store, fans grabbed the proper gear for Game 1, which will be played in the chilly 40 degrees.
“I have a hoodie because I think it's gonna rain, so that way I can put the hood up,” said Kristen Hyres, Red Sox fan.
“I pulled my UGGS out. Gonna wear long underwear and jeans, couple of sweatshirts,” said Karin Tamms, Red Sox fan.
87-year-old Mary Pero will be watching from home, but she knows what it's like watching from the stands. She was at Fenway during the series when the Sox won the 1946 American League championship.
“Oh boy it was crazy, but it was good,” said Mary Pero, Red Sox Fan
Pero said she just wanted to come by Fenway to relive the World Series excitement.
