Sox fans react to obsturction call; hope for Game 4 win
BOSTON (WHDH) -- The call for obstruction in Game 3 was one that had plenty of Red Sox fans screaming at the television.
It was the bottom of the 9th and Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks was called for obstruction, which allowed the Cardinals to score and take the game 5-4.
“He calls him safe, and then he calls interference. How do you do that,” said Rick Rainville, Red Sox fan.
“He was clearly out, I mean it was so obvious,” said Cory Krzanik, Red Sox fan.
A day later at Fenway, plenty of fans were still in shock.
“The call in 9th inning was bogus,” said Lucy Watson, Red Sox fan.
“I feel like sometimes the games might be fixed, but something like that I can’t help believe they're not Red Sox fan,” said Joanne Watco, Red Sox fan.
But even some Red Sox faithful, who after a fitfull night's sleep, are reconsidering.
“Now looking at it they had to make the right call, but I hate when games end like that,” said Adam Wish, Red Sox fan.
If anything, fans hope the loss and controversial call will fire up the Red Sox enough for a win Sunday night.
“Hopefully we’ll come to Boston with a 3-2 lead,” Wish said.
