New rock song says the Sox beards are here to party
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHDH) -- The beards are long in Fenway Park, so long in fact that they’ve inspired a southern rock song.
Tim Montana and the Shrednecks had their song “This beard came here to party” on the backburner, but when the Sox were playing the ALCS in Detroit Montana and his bandmates rushed to get the song done for what turned out to be the final game of the ALCS.
“We went through the night, the producer got it to the engineer at 4 a.m., he had it mixed by 8 a.m. and we turned on t.v. that night to watch the game against Detroit and we heard the song. It was incredible,” Montana said.
The song is now in regular rotation during Sox games, and Montana says the Sox are now a regular occurrence on his television.
“I’ve always kind of liked Boston, but recently since they took the song on I am a die-hard Boston fan. They’re helping me out, guess what, I will fight you if you don’t like the Boston Red Sox,” he said.
