Sox ticket prices at a premium for World Series Game 6
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Tickets to Game 6 of the World Series are going for as much as $25,000 a pair, the highest price ever in Boston and more than 2,000 times the price of an early season ticket.
“I would tell you no matter what you do, do it quick. Seats are flying,” ACE Ticket owner Jim Holzman said.
A Sox fan from Alabama was looking for tickets to the game; he was one of the many people looking for last minute seats.
“Tickets are hard to find and what’s out there is very expensive,” Tim Maguire said.
Maguire ended up spending nearly $4,000 for tickets on the loge on the first baseline. Holzman said he could see that back in the value of the stubs if the Sox win tonight.
“This is game 6 of the world series if they win that game tonight the ticket stub alone will be worth $500,” he said.
Tickets were listed online for as much as $18,000 and ACE is selling a pair of tickets front row behind the Cardinals dugout for $25,000, but Holzman said those are the exception, not the rule.
"Those two seats at 18,000 that's really an extreme, you’re talking about the front row best seats in the house. There are very good seats for $1,500,” he said.
Early in the season tickets to a game at Fenway Park could be found for as low as $10, that's in a whole different ballpark than the $2,000 average for Game 6.
