7-year-old fan sleeping on Red Sox signatures
NEEDHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- A 7-year-old is sleeping on a bed that many Red Sox fans would hope to have just a piece of.
In May the Rashi School in Dedham held a raffle and one of the items was a bed signed by every player on the 2013 Boston Red Sox.
Back then many fans had written this season off as a rebuilding year and Jessica Carrol was able to buy the bed for $3,500; a steal compared to what it is likely worth today.
“Everyone one of the Red Sox players from 2013 has signed it. It really is something we will keep forever,” Carroll said.
Shane Victorino, Will Middlebrooks and Clay Buchholz names are all on the bed but 7-year-old Jonah says the Big Papi signature right above his pollow is his favorite.
Wednesday night Jonah will be asleep with dreams of waking up to see that the Red Sox have won while has parents watch Game 6 on television.
The Carrolls said they are looking forward to keeping the bed in the family.
“We really want to keep it in our family, we feel like it will be special for many many years to come,” Jessica Carroll said.
