Should they stay or should the go? The Red Sox beards
BOSTON (WHDH) -- With the World Series now behind Boston fans started talking about what should stay and what should go as far as Red Sox facial hair is concerned.
“I think they all should shave them all off, their wives and girlfriends are waiting for them to go,” one fan suggested.
“I’m anxious to see what they look like without all the shrubbery hanging,” another fan said.
Not everyone was so unilateral in their decision though.
“I think you’ve got to get rid of Napoli, he’s growing things in there,” a fan said.
“The one that probably looks like it could use a trimming the most is Jonny Gomes,” according to another fan.
There was one Sox that most fans agreed should keep his beard.
“Big Papi’s got to keep it, that’s a fall classic. He keeps it trimmed up,” an Ortiz fan said.
The general consensus was also that when the shaving does begin, there should be a fundraising event where the team comes clean together.
Bearded Sox outfielder Daniel Nava had one thing to say to his teammates about the beards.
“Everyone better keep till Saturday you can't go on duck boat without beard.Everyone’s got beards. People that are lining streets will have fake beards. I think you'll feel out of place team member and you don't have a beardn ” Nava said.
What do you think the Red Sox should do with their beards? Is there any one player whose beard you feel strongly about?
