Victorino's father proud, hopes to see it again next year
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Shane Victorino may have been the hero in World Series Game 6, driving in three of the teams six runs, and his family was in town to celebrate with him.
7News was the only station to speak with Victorino’s father about his son’s performance.
Micahel Victorino is proud of his son, he said he never imagined this much success for his son.
"He was always special. People always used to identify that he would be something someday. I never dreamed all of this. Three World Series appearances, two World Series wins, not in my wildest imagination, not at all,” he said.
The Victorino family is taking the win in and enjoying Boston while they’re here from Hawaii.
“Just like the whole town a World Series championship doesn't come every day, so you’ve got to savor the moment," Michael Victorino said.
So what does the father see in his son’s future?
"Hopefully, we can repeat for next year,” he said.
