Red Sox in Minnesota to take on the Twins
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Red Sox are in Minnesota to take on the Twins after seeing the finale of their weekend series against the Yankees rained out Sunday night.
Jon Lester will get the start for the Red Sox and Sunday’s starter, Daniel Bard will pitch in relieve, while Minnesota will have Jason Marquis on the mound to start.
Monday’s game should see the Red Sox debut for new outfielder Marlon Byrd after his trade from the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.
The Sox made the deal with both Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury both out with injuries. Byrd says he's looking forward to playing with a team expected to compete for the postseason.
