BOSTON (WHDH) -- Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was cited for an improper left turn after he was involved in a fender bender near Fenway on Friday.

“My car just started spinning coming out of the gas station. One of my buttons on my car -- I hit it without knowing it and it’s for the back traction for the tire. And once I got out, my car started spinning and I hit this lady,” David Ortiz said.

Ortiz quickly jumped out to see if everyone was okay.

“I’m fine, I’m fine, [I’m going to play tonight],” Ortiz said. “[The woman I hit] was great. She was fine. I talked to her,” Ortiz said.

Ortiz said the fender bender was his fault and that he would pay for the damage to the woman's car.

"I heard a bang as I was standing at the host stand and I turned around and it was right next to a Volvo," said Ken Beane, a witness. "When we came outside he turned back around, came this way, and everybody thought he was taking off. But then he pulled into the parking lot right there."

No one was injured.

Ortiz played in Friday night's game against the Indians.
