GM Ben Cherington and principal owner John Henry will both be in Seattle this week for the Red Sox, Mariners series leading many to wonder if Valentine's final days in a Boston uniform are imminent.
A team source said Cherington and Henry’s trip has been planned for a while, but a winless west coast road trip and ongoing clubhouse dysfunction has many wondering if valentine is about to be let go.
Boston is 0-6 on their current road trip and have been outscored 54-15.

At that time, upper management had stated that valentine wouldn't be fired before the end of the season.
