Cherington, Henry trip rumored end for Valentine
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Could the end be in sight for Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine?
GM Ben Cherington and principal owner John Henry will both be in Seattle this week for the Red Sox, Mariners series leading many to wonder if Valentine's final days in a Boston uniform are imminent.
A team source said Cherington and Henry’s trip has been planned for a while, but a winless west coast road trip and ongoing clubhouse dysfunction has many wondering if valentine is about to be let go.
Boston is 0-6 on their current road trip and have been outscored 54-15.
They’ve fallen to a season-low eleven games under 500.
When asked about the team's current losing streak, Valentine raised some eyebrows over the weekend with the response, "What difference does it make?"
It’s not the first time the Sox brass has been on the road with the team recently.
Ownership showed up in Baltimore last month to support the team.
At that time, upper management had stated that valentine wouldn't be fired before the end of the season.
