BOSTON (WHDH) -- As the sun set on Fenway Park Monday night, could it also be lights out for Sox manager Bobby Valentine?
“We just kind of want that little magic back that it used to have,” one fan said.
The Fenway faithful are concerned as the Sox struggle on the west coast. So far they're zero and seven after a season of ups and it seems like even more downs.
“I sort of blame him for the Red Sox right now, even though it’s probably not all his fault, but definitely blame him,” another fan said.
Valentine told reporters he met with team owners Monday trying to figure out what's behind the latest slide.
The owners are voicing support for the skipper, but Sox fans aren’t so sure.
“I can understand he’s new and everything this year but they’ve been doing -- they haven’t been doing well for quite a long time,” one woman said.
“I wouldn’t. I feel like it’s a little early, but I know my brother’s a big fan. He says they should fire him,” one man said.
But others say it's not all Bobby V's fault and they would like everyone to give him some time to work with the new-look Red Sox.
“I’d like to see him stay, just get more than a year. It’s a tough clubhouse team this year but I think he can turn things around. I like his attitude,” another man said.
