BOSTON (WHDH) -- Red Sox owner John Henry insists Bobby Valentine will remain the team's manager through the end of the season.
The miserable west coast road trip keeps getting worse for the Red Sox, the team lost again to the Mariners last night.
Boston has lost seven straight but the Sox owner said Bobby Valentine will not be fired at this point.
Owner John Henry and GM Ben Cherington were both in Seattle yesterday.
Henry and Valentine had breakfast together.
The owner said Bobby V will at least finish out this season as the team's skipper.
Valentine at least had a sense of humor about the whole situation.
When asked about the meeting, Valentine said, “For any of you who are sorry that I didn't get fired, I’m sorry that you're sorry - but I don't think I did this morning, if that's what you thought was going to happen.”
Henry also met with players before leaving Seattle yesterday.
GM Ben Cherington admitted his current team "is hard to watch," but he stresses that a team's record is not a great way to evaluate a manager.
