7's Steve Cooper previews Spartan race at Fenway

BOSTON (WHDH) -- There’s a monster of a race at Fenway Park this weekend and it has nothing to do with the Boston Red Sox. The historic landmark is hosting a unique race.

Fenway will be filled with fitness fanatics this weekend -- for the first time ever 8,000 competitors will take part in a Spartan race inside the ballpark.

Twenty five obstacles cover three miles, including crawling through tiny tubing with water shooting in your face. Participants will scale the wall set up on the warning track, take a break with squats and pushups before attempting to get over netting. Then they’ll jump till you collapse before meeting the gladiators at the finish line.
