BOSTON (WHDH) -- Former Red Sox star Kevin Youkilis reportedly has been an offered a deal from the Yankees. Youkilis was back in Boston Thursday night and talked about his future.

Youkilis still has strong ties to the Boston area: he was in town Thursday for an event for his charity foundation, and plans to stick around to watch his brother-in-law, Tom Brady, play on Monday night.

But Youk's popularity in the beantown may be tested if he decides to don the pinstripes.

The New York Yankees have reportedly offered the former sox star a one-year deal worth $12 million . Youkilis would fill in at third base, while Alex Rodriguez rehabs a hip injury.

The 33-year-old was traded by the Red Sox to the White Sox in June and says he will take his time before deciding where he'll play next season.

“We’re very fortunate we have a few teams we're talking to and discussing, there's nothing really final. We're just going through and I'm very fortunate,” said Youkilis. “A lot of teams want me right now, and I've got a handful of good choices and I just have to sit down with my family and agent and all that stuff… in due time. We'll find out."

Another team said to be pursuing Youkilis is the Indians -- the new manager in Cleveland is Terry Francona.
