Some ferry service set to resume following Earl

NANTUCKET, Mass. -- Ferry service appeared set to resume in some areas Saturday morning following Earl.
The Steamship Authority announced in a press release that it would resume service Saturday morning on the Woods Hole/Martha's Vineyard route beginning at 6 a.m. Passenger/vehicle ferries and the high-speed passenger ferry service on Hyannis/Nantucket route was scheduled to resume their schedules starting at 7:30 a.m.
The 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. ferries to Nantucket, and the 8:45 a.m. to Hyannis were cancelled, according to the Steamship Authority.
Hy-Line Cruise said its next possible departure to Nantucket would be at 9:10 a.m.
Despite torrential rains from Earl, there were no reports of flooding or power outages Nantucket Saturday morning.
Most of the town was closed and boarded up prior to the storm's arrival.
The main concern was erosion as heavy waves appeared to take their toll on the beach.
One home that was on the edge of a peninsula appeared to withstand the storm. Prior to Earl, there were concerns that 83-year-old Gene Ratner's home would topple due to damage.
