Toronto Mayor fighting back after scandalous video
TORONTO (WHDH) -- Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has gotten some heat from an alleged video that shows him smoking crack with drug dealers. Now he is fighting back.
“There’s been a serious accusation that I used crack cocaine. I did not use crack cocaine nor am I an addict for crack cocaine. As for a video, I cannot comment on a video that I have not seen or does not exist,” said Ford.
But some disagree. Kevin Donahue is a reporter for The Toronto Star. He said the mayor looked disheveled.
“He was rambling and he seemed to be high. There’s no real other way to describe it than to say the Mayor was high,” said Donovan.
Since the scandal broke, the Mayor has fired his Chief of Staff. Two top press aides also quit after he went on the radio and called the media “maggots.”
He later apologized.
“I’m sure you understand this has been a very stressful week for myself. That does not justify using the terminology that I did,” said Ford.
The video is allegedly still being offered for around $200,000.
