Iraqi divers retrieve bodies after boat accident
BAGHDAD (AP) -- Iraqi divers worked through the night in murky waters to recover bodies from a partially sunken floating restaurant in Baghdad after an accident left eight people dead.
The body of one man was pulled to the surface on Friday, drawing cries of "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great," from family members waiting at the scene.
The boat was moored to the shore of the Tigris River as part of a popular Lebanese restaurant complex in central Baghdad.
Baghdad Fire Chief Laith Yas Abbas says about 120 people were trying to take a group photo on one side of the boat when it began to take on water.
He says that sparked a panic as guests rushed toward the exit. Authorities said there was no indication of foul play.
