Fisherman pulled from water as shark circles
JURIEN BAY, Australia (WHDH) – A fisherman was pulled from the ocean off the coast of Australia Friday.
The fisherman had been treading water for 20 hours after the boat he was in sank. The man was spotted by news station’s helicopter with at least one hammerhead shark circling him.
The news station’s Grant Taylor described the event live from the helicopter to an Australian radio as the scene unfolded.
The 49-year-old man was barely able to swim to the rescue boat and was taken a hospital suffering from hypothermia.
The fisherman was with two other men. One was later found and did not survive. The other is still missing.
