Mark Margarit
7NEWS Meteorologist
As a native of East Bridgewater, Mark Margarit rejoined WHDH from WRGB, the CBS affiliate in Albany, NY, where he was the weekend meteorologist. Prior to that, Mark worked behind the scenes at WHDH for three years as a Weather Producer, helping design and create graphics for the Channel 7 weather team.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science with a minor in Broadcast Meteorology from SUNY Albany, graduating magna cum laude in 2004. Also while in college, Mark interned at WXXA-FOX in Albany. He is also a current member of the American Meteorological Society.
Mark has been interested in the weather since he was a young child, and often would spend hours watching the Weather Channel. Mark realized his love for TV during high school, where he was an anchor for the school's news program during his senior year. Combining the two fields, along with his love for geography, made becoming a Broadcast Meteorologist seem like the perfect career path.
Born and raised south of Boston in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Mark grew up with Nor'easters, blizzards, Hurricanes Bob and Gloria, and severe thunderstorms. Mark is happy to continue forecasting the wide-ranging, and often challenging, weather patterns of New England.
In his free time, Mark enjoys music, trivia and other games, running, and enjoying the summer heat by the beach.
