Kim Khazei
Co-anchor of the 5pm, 6pm, 10pm and 11pm newscasts.
Kim was an original co-anchor when 7NEWS launched its first morning news after Sunbeam Television Corporation took over the station in 1993. At one point, she anchored four straight hours of live, local news each morning. During Kim's eight years at WHDH, she also anchored the Noon, 4pm and 5:30pm newscasts. Kim quickly earned a reputation as a commanding anchor, especially during breaking news coverage.
Kim left 7NEWS in 2001 to focus on raising her three children. After six-years of being a full-time mom, she returned to the anchor desk in August, 2007.
Kim has reported on major national and international news events for nearly two decades. She began her television career at KOMU-TV (NBC) in Columbia, Missouri, then spent four years at KQTV (ABC) in Missouri as an evening anchor and reporter. Soon after, she became the evening news anchor at the NBC affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, followed by a move to the NBC affiliate in Sacramento, California, where she worked for two years as a weekend anchor/reporter. Kim then spent two years as an anchor/reporter at KOVR-TV (ABC) in Sacramento, California. Kim also spent two years with a nationally-syndicated news magazine show that aired in 100 cities across the country, including Boston before coming to WHDH. Some of her most memorable assignments were reporting from scud missile sites in Israel after the Persian Gulf War and from the pyramids of Egypt.
Outside the newsroom, Kim is active in the community and takes part in several non-profit events in her town and surrounding areas. She also loves skiing, tennis, swimming and spending time with her husband and children on New England's beaches and mountains.
