Linda Ergas is an award winning general assignment reporter who joined 7NEWS in the Fall of 2002, covering a wide range of breaking news stories.

Recently, Linda was honored by the New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her outstanding reporting on the "7-11 Robber Meets the Hammer Clerk" for which she received an Emmy.  Linda has been honored with Emmy and Associated Press nominations before for her Spot News Coverage.

Linda began her career as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, ME. She has also held behind-the-scenes positions at NBC NewsChannel, ABC NewsOne, News12 Long Island, and New England Cable News. Prior to joining 7NEWS, Linda reported for "Fox25 News at 10" here in Boston and was a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at WMUR News 9 (ABC) in Manchester, NH and at WVII-TV (ABC) in Bangor, ME.

One of the most memorable stories Linda covered was during the New Hampshire Primary in 2000.  She was first to interview then Governor George W. Bush after he lost the vote in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire - the first town in the state to cast ballots.

Linda is a graduate of Syracuse University where she earned degrees in both Broadcast Journalism and Policy Studies.  She realized she was destined to be in broadcasting in high school where she first studied broadcast news.

On a personal note, Linda completed her first triathlon with her husband in June of 2007 and looks forward to competing again in the future.  She is also an avid skier and loves the winters in New England where she can hit the slopes with her friends and family.
