Bowl Full of Nothing

So that's was it's supposed to feel like this time of year.

Highs managed the upper 30s to near 40 degrees today. Felt warmer, no? That's why this is called the Solar Spring (Feb. 1 - Apr. 30) folks. That sun can fry a snowbank (given a clear sky that is) this time of year....if we had any.

Super weekend is here, and there's little change to the pattern - for now. I'm just focusing on the temperatures over the next several days. There are no storms to theaten, so any passing clouds will be just that. Highs will average out in the upper 30s tomorrow, then dip to the low 30s on Sunday. There IS a storm in the D.C./Baltimore area that will spread some snow through the Beltway, but this time around, it doesn't have our name on it.

Hmm...that's about it. Oh, wait, one other thing.

The weather maps are foreshadowing a big changeup by the middle of the month. Bitter air will try to swoop in next weekend, but there are signs it may be held up by an active storm track across the Midwest and the Mid Atlantic. (You can probably see where this is heading.) IF we get the cold in here, with an active, stormy, pattern, we could find ourselves in the closed loop of cold/snow/cold/snow. There are a few things that need to come into line for this to happen (not the least of which is consensus in the maps themselves), but we could certainly see ourselves firing up the snowblowers/plows and digging out the snow shovels if it comes together. These would be big, long lasting storms with harsh, numbing cold. You know, winter stuff.

No, Phil wasn't right...he just might have gotten lucky this time.

We've had some sun, a few nice weekends...and some rain. It's been warm, it's been cool, and, at times, it's been perfect.

Busy Day

What a crazy  busy and wonderful Wednesday I just had. I spent most of the morning in Mansfield for a school visit at the Robinson School for my nephew, then a visit to Mansfield High School to see the Senior Presentation for the student, Lindsay, I mentored for her senior year. Then it was back to Boston for an amazing charity event supporting the Charlestown YMCA. I met so many fabulous people all day long...young and young at heart!

Here Comes Summer

Oh so close to that Holiday Weekend. The Memorial Day weekend does indeed kick-off summer so think of today & the rest of the week as *pre-season* tune up for mom nature. Classic day where we started with clouds & fog but by coffee break time, that sun was alive & kicking. The humidity stay around and combined with that strong May sunshine ganged up on us popping a few afternoon t-storms. These storms were briefly intense but not much teeth with them after 30-45 minutes.

Staying Damp

I decided to finally hit up the grocery store yesterday. The best part about grocery shopping in the rain is that there really aren't too many other people shopping. The worst part about grocery shopping in the rain is...grocery shopping in the rain. No wonder why the smarter people stay home. Carrying in bags soaking wet is no fun. But the fresh Tilapia and broccoli and the homemade strawberry shortcake was worth the trip!
