Still Recovering

Posted by

I'm still nursing my injuries and bruises from Sunday's first softball game of the season. Reminds me how out of shape I am! I could either run today and starting getting into shape or I could accept the fact that it's a cold, damp, miserable day and I'll go get a massage instead. It's not too hard to figure out which I think sounds more enjoyable!

Today's not the best outdoorsy day. We started off the day about 10-20 degrees warmer than yesterday in the mid 40s, but we'll stay in the mid 40s to lower 50s all through the day. We'll hang onto clouds and scattered showers...sometimes heavy, sometimes light...and a still southeast wind today.

Wednesday will still be fairly cloudy, but more seasonable near 60. More sunshine is likely Thursday and it'll be warmer still in the mid 60s. On average, May gets about 2 thunderstorm days and the first one this year could be on Friday. We'll see some sunshine with pop-up storms by Friday evening and highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday still looks somewhat sunny in the lower 70s, but light showers are possible early Sunday. Heading to the Walk for Hunger Sunday morning? Me too! It'll be damp and cloudy with increasing sunshine and highs in the lower 60s.

Take the Good, Take the Bad

Rain, rain, rain...

...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.

Come On Ride The Train

Posted by Pete Bouchard

Heavy rain is on the move! All afternoon long it was stalled over Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Heavy pulses of rain traveled over the same towns and cities - a process meteorologists call "training" - resulting in flash flooding in some counties to our west.

Unsettling

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

Another day where we have cool, ocean air battling warmer land air leading to a clash of air. That means clouds, drizzle, fog, humidity (frizzy hair) for much of the day. It's not a washout though. The highest chance of rain is this morning--until 9:30am and then later this afternoon (after 3pm). In between, you will see a lot of clouds but also some sunshine at times. Even limited sun will be able to shove temps well into the 70s. This warm & humid air is what will lead to another round of showers & t-storms later today. Some of the storms will be intense. Like the past two days the strongest storms will be in western New England. Only isolated showers/ thunderstorms are expected along the coastline later today. Sox game will have the risk of some showers but they should be able to play that game. Welcome back Tito!
